Around Austin this Memorial Day
Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner, and with this day of remembrance comes days of celebration here in Austin, honoring the men and women who died while serving our country. Here are a few things you can do around town on Monday, May 29:
Catch Grease the Sing-Along and American Graffiti at the Blue Starlite Drive-In.
This mini urban drive-in is the only one of its kind in the country. A non-traditional pop-up boutique theater, it can only fit a maximum of 50 cars! Get there early to ensure you have a spot, and enjoy this uniquely-Austin experience.
Enjoy Monday Brunch at Banger’s.
Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden is extending its famous Sunday brunch to Monday in honor of Memorial Day. They’ll be serving their Freedom Toast, Bacon Steak and Banger’s Bennies from 11am to 3pm. Come hungry and stay a while!
Witness the Hell Yes Project Olympics at The ABGB.
The Hell Yes Project by The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. is an action-based philosophy dedicated to bettering our community. The ABGB donates 5% of its profits to its Hell Yes Project Partners, some of which are participating in the Memorial Day Olympics. Cheer on Austin Pets Alive!, Ghisallo Cycling Initiative, Austin Habitat for Humanity, Save Our Springs Alliance, and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians as they compete for a $1000 Gold Medal prize.
No matter what you’re doing in Austin this Memorial Day, be sure to thank the men and women who fight and have fought for this country, and remember those who bravely gave their lives so we could live ours.
