RVE’s Event Trend Forecast for 2014
Now that 2014 is well under way, we wanted to share our exciting event trend forecast for the year. What have we already been seeing from clients and venues? What do we believe we’re going to see fairly often this year?
Being Green and Locally Sourced.
As Kermit the Frog said, it’s not easy being green – but as Red Velvets Event said, being green is more important than ever! Mindfulness for the environment continues to be a huge trend in event planning. Clients regularly seek out locally sourced foods and goods for their events. We at RVE are big fans of this trend. It’s good for the planet, and it lets us show off the many wonderful foods and products that Austin and central Texas have to offer!
Sing, Sing, Sing!
The success of TV shows like “American Idol” and “The Voice” are giving karaoke a big comeback! We’re not talking about silly late-night sing-alongs; we mean giving singers the star treatment when they perform. More events – even meetings and conferences – are offering guests the chance to show off their songbird skills.
The Glamorous Past.
Thanks in part to last summer’s extravagant, eye-catching film version of The Great Gatsby, yesterday’s elegance is now today’s hottest look for social events. Look for Jazz Age touches in décor and evening wear, and upscale elements on tables such as elegantly patterned china, crystal and silver.
These are just a few of the ideas and traits we’re already seeing in 2014’s events. We can’t wait to see what other exciting trends this year has in store!
