Going Green

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Did you know that Red Velvet Events is a paperless office? It’s just one of the many ways we try to be green. We care about the environment and strive to leave a smaller carbon footprint as much as possible.

As a paperless office, we scan and recycle as much as possible, and we request that vendors and clients e-mail us information rather than sending paper copies. We do this to save paper, as well as to keep our information digital and easy to search.

Here are some other ways we’re working to reduce, reuse and recycle around the office and at our events:
  • We avoid printing items in the office unless absolutely necessary; but when we do print, we try to use recycled paper.
  • We’ve used recyclable and even compostable name badges at different events.
  • One of our lighting secrets: LED lights! They pack quite a punch and use very little energy.
  • Rather than distribute plastic water bottles at some events, we’ve had water bottle refilling stations and encouraged people to bring their own reusable bottles.
Keep It in the Cloud!

If you’re planning on becoming a paperless office, we highly recommend that keep your information in the Cloud so you can access it from your laptop, your smart phone or your tablet. Also, make sure you back up your information, too, just to be safe.

Your Turn.

What steps have you taken and what practices do you encourage (or discourage) in order to be a greener workplace? We’d love to hear about it in the comments!
